Tyler Sternberg was born in Madison, Wisconsin and received an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences with a focus in Architectural Technologies at Madison College before moving to Phoenix in 2009 to attend Arizona State University.  He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Design and continued with a Masters of Architecture degree graduating in 2015.  Tyler and his partner recieved Design Excellence for their thesis that looked at filling voids in suburban communities through tactics relating to social connectivity, economic sustainability and environmental symbiosis.

During his time at ASU, Tyler was also part of the design and construction team that competed in the Solar Decathlon 2013 in Irvine California, where his interest in design-build grew from his appreciation and awareness to the details that are transformed from construction documents to the built environment.  This attracted him to 180 degrees where he was a summer intern and co-superintendent of ValiHomes in 2013 and another renovation project in the summer of 2014 before becoming a team member at 180 degrees in 2015.

Besides his constant exploration of the symbiotic relationships between architecture, beauty and the environment, Tyler has studied abroad in Buenos Aires, backpacked across Europe and explored Central America embracing different cultures of the world. When he is temporarily anchored at home, Tyler enjoys spending time mountain biking, hiking, camping, cheering on the Packers and experiencing the great breweries that Phoenix has to offer with his wife Vanessa and their two dogs, Renzo and Eero.
