40th street residence was designed by and built by 180 degrees design + build
Designed by Ned Sawyer and built in 1978, this modern desert home has a great indoor/outdoor relationship with its surroundings. The current Owners appreciated the language of materials and connections that permeate throughout the house and challenged 180 degrees to retain them in the design of the remodel and addition. They desired to upgrade the kitchen, convert the pool bathroom to a powder room, and expand the master bedroom and bathroom. Existing outdoor courtyard spaces were converted into interior spaces that expanded the master bathroom and incorporated a sitting room off of the master bathroom. The existing structural walls remained and new trellis was added to the exterior of the residence to provide solar protection at the sitting room floor to ceiling glass.
